Sunday Outing

Last Sunday Joseph and I went and visited the Joseph Smith Farm and the Sacred Grove. It was such an incredible experience.

Look how many trees there are. Joseph's family cut down more then 300 trees a day to clear room for their farm.

In the frame house the Smith's moved in, when the kids got older, was the fire place Joseph hid the plates. One of the missionaries said that one night when Joseph and his family heard a mob coming they grabbed pots and pans, started screaming and ran out their back door. This made the other mob think someone already came and got the Smith family:) They were super sneaky:)

Walking into the Sacred Grove

Trees like this one and some that were even bigger covered the farm before the Smith's got to Palmyra. Think of how hard that would be to chop down and dig up this big of a tree.
