Ok so I think I have been trying to re-arange these photos for about an hour now and they still wont go in the order they are suppose to. So hopefully it makes sense. Blogger seriously needs to find a way to make it easier to change your pictures around:)
Well here goes, I was due on the 10th of Sept, but since this was my 2nd baby my Doctor induced me 3 days early on the 7th. :)
I got this cute colorful gown so I didnt have to wear the ugly blue one they have:) Here I am just waiting to be induced. They induced me at 10 A.M. and by 4p.m I was still only at a 4. The doctor came in around 4:30 and broke my water. I had asked the nurse before if I should get my epidural after he brakes my water or before. SHe made it seem like it did not matter and anytime would be fine. So I waited until after. BAD IDEA!!!!!!!! WARNING: For all moms having a baby get epidural BEFORE they break your water. Instantly I had a contraction and it was so intense I was clinging to the side rail crying and saying "Help me" It was the worst pain I have ever felt. I had never felt that intense of a contraction with Korver. It was so painful. After I got my epidural everything was great:)
My mom and Janene were there right before I had to push. They came in at 5:30 and checked me and I was at a 10 and Raquel's head was ready to come out. The doctor of course was 15min away so I had to wait for him to get there to push.
Joseph and I right before Raquel was born
I started pushing at 6pm and Raquel was born at 6:06pm. It was so nice to only have to push for 6 min.
The Doctor said she was born with High hemoglobin (A lot of red blood cells) That is way she looks so red.
Are new addition: Raquel Ann Griffin born on Sept 7th @ 6:06 pm 7 lb 8oz and 18 1/2 inches long |

Addy meeting Raquel for the first time:) She was so excited to meet her:)
B had a race in St george over the weekend so she was not there at the hospital, but came over when she got home to meet Raquel.
Last Friday, when Raquel was a week old, we found out she was born with Hypothyroidisim. 1 out of 4,000 babies are born with it. Its a condition where the thyroid does not make any of the thyroid hormone the body needs. So Raquel will have to take a pill for the rest of her life everyday to make sure she gets that hormone. When I first found out I was a mess. I felt so bad for her that she is going to have to deal with this the rest of her life, but after an amazing blessing given to her I felt ok. I am so grateful that the doctors were able to find out now and not later. I am so glad that it is just a pill she has to take and not a shot or something more extreme. Because she was born with it and we started her on the medication she will never have to go through the symptoms people have when they do not have enough thyroid hormone.
Joseph, Korver and I are so blessed to have this beautiful baby girl in our lives. We love her so much already and we are so excited to watch her grow up to become the amazing girl we know she is going to be. We love you Raquel and are so blessed that our Heavenly Father sent you to us.
